The Planets Show

Come on a space adventure! Fly through the stars and explore The Sun, our Moon and each planet of our solar system. What makes them all different - let's find out!

As we zoom around the solar system, pupils will learn that the planets move around the Sun and how this creates day and night on Earth. We'll explore the Goldilocks zone and why this means that Earth is the only planet with life. Our Planetarium pilot will whisk you to the Moon and the Sun before heading to each planet to discover their differences. You'll even look at our dwarf planets and the universe beyond our solar system. Are you ready? Let's blast off on our space exploration!

Constellation Stories

Presenter-led live show

Let's explore the shapes and stories of the constellations. Discover the cultures of the Ancient Greeks, Sumers, Mayans, Egyptians and Chinese and how the stars influenced their every day lives.

What is a constellation? Let's find out! Discover the Big Dipper and Ursa Major and explore how the Ancient Greeks named most of the constellations we know today. But there are more stories to tell and our Planetarium pilot knows one or two! Be wowed as the Orion stories come to life on the Planetarium screen and learn how different civilizations had many similarties in their constellation stories. Are you sitting comfortably? Our Sky Through the Seasons

What can we see in the sky as we move through the seasons? Join us as we explore how our planet travels around the Sun and be wowed by the night sky throughout the year.

As the Sun moves through our sky, we'll explore the day and night cycle of Earth. Pupils will discover how the seasons affect what we see in the sky from the constellations to the objects that orbit us and how they change as we make our way through the year. Plus, marvel at ursa major and ursa minor as they sparkle on the Planetarium screen and find out how we can use them to find the North Star.

The Race to Space

Humans have always been fascinated by space. Explore how our race to space evolved from early civilizations using the stars to guide them to the invention of the telescope to man finally heading into space.

It's time for a space history lesson! Let's find out how our race to space began back with early civilizations using the stars to help their every day lives. We'll explore how they identifed the stars by making constellations and used them to help plant and harvest food. Fast forward to early Islamic scholars who built many of the foundations of astronomy and observed the Andromeda galaxy for the first time with the naked eye. With the invention of telescopes our universe got a whole lot bigger and then man went into space. Throughout this epic show, pupils will be whisked to moons and satellites and discover more about some of the space programmes happening right now. Are you ready for an astronomical adventure?
